The rout: Smilavičy – Babrujsk - Žyličy – Krasny Bierah.
Length: 450 km.
Duration: 11(13) hours.
For some reason it is considered that Eastern Belarus is not interesting for the tourist. There is no Mirsky castle or churches that are close in their finesse to the cathedrals of Grodno here. However it is a very delusive idea. And on this tour we will try to prove that it is not true.
Our excursion begins in a small place Smilavičy that is only 30 kilometers far from Minsk. The ruins of the ancient palace of the Maniuškas with the park have remained here. The names of painter Valensy Vankovich and the composer Stanislaŭ Maniuška are connected with this palace.
With Smilavičy itself the name of Chaim Soutine is connected. He is a famous painter and his works are sold all over the Europe for great prices. However the Belarusian people know little about him. In Smilavičy you will know more about Soutine and his paintings.
The further road to the East leads us to Babrujsk one of the most mysterious cities of Belarus. Now it is a large manufacture center of our Republic but it is more famous as a center of Jew culture of all Russian Empire. Jews left behind them beautiful clay houses and banks that form a pedestrian street. Russian Empire left behind the remnants of big Babrujsk fortress that saw the army of Napoleon, the rebels of 1831 and 1863 and concentration camps of 1920 and 1941. Today the remnants of the fortress are cleaned and it is easy to look round them.
Two monuments that will soon beautify tourists’ routs of Belarus hid right behind Bobruisk. They are palaces in Žyličy and in Krasny Bereg. The first one belonged to the Bulgaks and was built in the beginning of XIX century; the second belonged to the Kozel-Pakleŭskies and was built in the end of the same century. The two palaces are not alike but both are interesting and unique and what is more are full of furnishing and decor.
In the end of our tour we offer you to visit an aquapark in Žlobin.
